There was only the one race at weekend for members of King’s Lynn Triathlon Club, the Victory SuperSprint Triathlon in North Walsham. Six members of KLTC competed in the 300m pool swim, scenic 17km bike and 3km run, coming away with another age group 1st and 2nd. Jemma Redhead was the first of the club to finish in 58min40s (AG2), averaging just under 20mph on the bike and posting the fastest female bike split of the day, but more importantly beat David Hickes who finished in 59min16s, 5mins faster than last year. Maureen Wolf tried hard on the bike to avoid being caught by Jemma, and in doing so almost went sub 1hr and earned herself an age group win (1hr0min41s). Paul Dunthorne finish with a strong run in 1hr05min, followed by Stephen and Alison Pentland in 1hr16min and 1hr19min respectively. Steffan Sprawling completed his first ever tri in 1hr28min, accompanied on the run by Jemma for whom one race per weekend is not enough. Victoria Dunthorne had a mechanical on the bike, but managed to fix it and still finished in 1hr31min, albeit a little more oily than when she started. For anyone interested in triathlon, or for local training sessions, details can be found on the club’s website www.kltri.co.uk
